Overview of Dental Insurance AR Specialist (Researcher)

In this role, you will manage dental claims from submission through resolution, including insurance follow-up, appeals, account research, and documentation. Objectives:
- Submit, track, and follow up on dental insurance claims.
- Research claim status and resolve payment issues.
- Prepare and submit claim appeals.
- Maintain accurate account documentation and clean account receivables.
- Communicate professionally with insurance carriers, clients, and internal teams.
- Correct claim and data-entry errors to ensure timely reimbursement
- Explain benefits.
Competencies:
- Minimum 7 years of recent experience in the dental field or in a related area.
- Excellent PC skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer.
- Extensive knowledge of dental practice management software including Dentrix with a minimum 5 years of recent experience.
- Thorough understanding of accurate coding using the ICD-10, CPT and CDT coding systems.
- A vast experience submitting and following up on dental claims in a dental office environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of medical/dental terminology and HIPAA guidelines.
- Wide-ranging experience in the use of electronic claims, electronic patient billing and electronic attachments.
- Thorough understanding of patient billing systems, timely filing requirements and insurance reimbursements.
- Familiarity with various insurance carriers. iCore’s clients are all over the country. ( Such as Aetna, Carefirst, Cigna, Delta, Metlife, United Concordia, and Guardian…).
